11 Plus support

Thorough preparation. Calm confidence.

We prepare children for the Kent grammar school selection test at the right pace for them. Thorough, structured, and always encouraging.

Preparing for grammar school entry in Kent

The Kent Test assesses reasoning, English, and mathematics skills. Preparation works best when it starts early, builds gradually, and remains enjoyable for the child. We focus on all three.

Our tutors are experienced in preparing children for the Kent 11+ format — including verbal reasoning, non-verbal reasoning, English comprehension, and mathematics — with regular mock tests and structured feedback.

Sessions are tailored to your child's current ability and the time available before the test. We always support the child's confidence alongside their skills.

Non-Verbal Reasoning

Spatial and pattern recognition tasks. Practised until they become familiar and manageable.

English

Reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, and written tasks.

Mathematics

Number, algebra, geometry, and data — with speed and accuracy built progressively.

Mock Tests

Timed practice papers in exam conditions with detailed feedback from tutors.

Test Technique

Strategies for managing time, reading questions carefully, and staying calm under pressure.

When should preparation start?

Most families begin 11 Plus preparation in Year 4 or early Year 5. A longer, lighter programme is often more effective than intensive last-minute revision.

We are happy to advise on what level of preparation is appropriate for your child at any stage. Call us to discuss.
